Have an awareness of how to correctly move & position people and inanimate objects in a safe manner.

To protect vulnerable adults and/or children from abuse & neglect in all circumstances.

Syllabus:
  • Recognise the different types of abuse.
  • How to respond to suspected or alleged abuse.
  • Understand the ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse.
  • Recognise and report of unsafe practices.
  • Understand the 6 key principles of safeguarding as outlined by the conduct act of 2014.
  • Understanding the legal framework policy and guidelines around the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Understand the meaning of mental capacity in relation to how care is provided.
  • Adhere to the 5 key principles of the Mental Capacity Act.
